One of the most important positions in the Little League is the coach. Most
of the time the position is taken because the parent's child is playing and
someone is needed. After accepting the position, it's often an overwhelming
experience when faced with a large handful of children, parents expecting
miracles and very little help. We want you to know that you're not alone and
we're here to help!
Maybe this is your first time in and you're considering becoming a coach for
the 2012 season. Please feel free to contact
Larry Curtis,
Ethan Owens,
Paul Milliken or
Renee
Allocca with any questions you might have.
After you receive your roster, one of the first things you should do is send
a note to the parents with clear expectations. A successful team is one
where the parents are as actively engaged as the children. Look for help
with your initial e-mail; assistant Coaches, help with practices, team moms,
scorekeepers, bench control - the more help you can get the easier your
season will be. Please feel free to ask for help from the Little League
committee if your parents are as unruly as the children!
We will be providing lesson plans to assist with guiding the children
towards specific expectations that are set depending on the level of play.
For now, please feel free to access the online tutorials at
